(Demo CD) Imagine a trip back in time - back to the good old days of early heavy rock. Imagine four 16 year old kids listening to Buffalo, Free and Black Sabbath after school and spending their time hanging out in a rehearsal room and jamming all day long. Well, then imagine the same four kids hanging around today surrounded by computer manipulated pop music, but still insisting on playing like in the early seventies. This is what Psychewalks is all about - bringing the big fat sound of the seventies hardrock back to life.
They all met up at Sejersgaards Musikefterskole back in august '07 and had this demo ready in the beginning of '08 - which is pretty amazing! All the musicians are highly skilled and the lead vocal is very mature and strong for a youngster. The core of this band is a heavy rhythm group lead by a downtuned bigfuzzed guitar - and what is really unique is a psyched out organ drifting in and out over the heaviness. I'm really impressed by this young band. Although you can hear many references to old giants like Blue Cheer and Led Zeppelin, they also have the ability to play really complex riffs making me wanna compare them to fellow wonderkids Pearls and Brass. If these dudes are gonna carry on in the same style as now and mature slowly, they will be a band to look for in the future. http://www.myspace.com/psychewalksofeternalkarma If you dig: Pearls and Brass, Kyuss, Blue Cheer ![]() |
